NY Restaurant Helps Save Woman Who Put “Please Call Police” On Grubhub Order

A New York restaurant helps save a woman being held hostage after receiving a request for help in her delivery order. The Chipper Truck Cafe in Yonkers recently got an unusual order from a customer that they were glad they didn’t overlook.

On a delivery order placed through the Grubhub food ordering and delivery service, there was a note attached in the spot for “additional instructions.” The note read “Please call the police,” and then added “please don’t make it obvious.”

Workers at the restaurant contacted the police, who responded to the delivery address and arrested a 32-year-old man on multiple charges including rape, assault, and unlawful imprisonment. A friend of the 24-year-old woman who left the note later called the restaurant to thank them and let them know the woman was safe. According to the restaurant’s owner, the employees were pleased that they “were able to help somebody.”
