Lake Mills coach Kyle Menke knows Marquette will provide a challenge for his club.

IOWA CITY — Iowa star Caitlin Clark is the Big Ten Player of the Year for the third straight season. Clark led the league in scoring and assists at more than 32 points and nearly nine assists per game. She also finished seventh in rebounds. Clark told the Big Ten Network she still has some goals to accomplish before heading to the WNBA.

It is the sixth time in the last seven years an Iowa player has won the award.

IOWA CITY (AP) — Fox Sports says Caitlin Clark’s record-setting game for Iowa against Ohio State on Sunday attracted more than 4 million television viewers at its peak and was the most watched women’s regular-season basketball game since 1999. Clark scored 35 points and passed Pete Maravich as the NCAA Division I overall career scoring leader during the Hawkeyes’ 93-83 win. Average viewership was 3.39 million and reached a high of 4.42 million late in the second half. Clark set the record with two free throws just before halftime. The game attracted more eyeballs than the Golden State Warriors-Boston Celtics game on ABC.

IOWA CITY — Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says senior guard Molly Davis will not be available for this week’s Big Ten Tournament in the Twin Cities. Davis suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s win over Ohio State but is hoping to return for the NCAA Tournament.

Bluder says they feared the worst when Davis was helped off the floor on Sunday.

The third ranked Hawkeyes are 26-4 and open the Big Ten Tournament on Friday night against the winner of Thursday’s game between Penn State and Wisconsin.

AMES — The 6th-ranked Iowa State men will try to close the regular season unbeaten at home tonight by hosting 20th-ranked BYU. The Cougars are the top scoring team in the Big 12 and connected on 13 three pointers in an 87-72 victory in the first meeting back in mid-January.

That’s ISU coach T.J. Otzelberger. BYU leads the Big 12 by averaging more than 11 made three pointers per game.

Defensively the Cyclones work to keep the ball out of the paint so that can lead to more three point attempts by an opponent.

Tonight will be emotional for Iowa State senior center Rob Jones, as the native of the Twin Cities will play his final home game. Jones is averaging better than eight points and four rebounds this season and joined the ISU program after starting his college career at the University of Denver. Jones is the only player who has been on the roster the past three years and his work ethic is a prime example of a program that prides itself on defense and toughness. Jones will finish his career having been part of three Iowa State teams that have played in the NCAA Tournament.

Jones calls Otzelberger a program builder.

Iowa State is 23-6 overall and 12-4 in the Big 12.

Phillips finished her senior season with a record of 43-3, winning the 105 pound title.
