CLEAR LAKE — AM-1490 & 96.7-FM KRIB/Alpha Media Mason City and the Clear Lake Community School District’s Athletics & Activities Department are announcing a joint venture to expand live streaming video of Clear Lake High School home sports and activities to the public for free.

“Lions TV” will bring viewers Clear Lake High School activities that are played at Lions Field and the high school gymnasium for free via Hudl TV/Team1Sports. Other events such as band and choir concerts will be livestreamed as well through the platform. Audio broadcasts of Clear Lake events on KRIB will be simulcast on “Lions TV” as well.

The free broadcasts on “Lions TV” are supported by the sponsors of the Clear Lake Lions broadcasts on KRIB and kribam.com. Previously, viewers had to pay a subscription fee for video access to Clear Lake Lions events.

People will be able to go to the radio station websites kribam.com or kglonews.com, or to the Clear Lake Community School District website clearlakeschools.com, where they can directly access the link to the games. People can also download the Team1Sports app from their app store for their phone or television. The app is supported on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV.

“It’s great that we are able to partner with the school district to expand our three-decades long relationship in bringing the people of north-central Iowa and worldwide coverage of Clear Lake High School,” says KRIB News & Sports Director Bob Fisher. “People have expressed a desire to access live video of Clear Lake events for free, and moving this direction not only brings the public the same amount of coverage as in the past, it expands on it.”

“We are proud to offer free live streaming of Clear Lake events this year and are excited about the capabilities we have to enhance the stream with this platform,” says Clear Lake High School athletic director Troy Tysdahl. “Allowing more of our students to be showcased on a bigger and wider level fits in with our goal of providing a positive experience for our school and community.”
